About Scott Cedeño
A 2007 Graduate of the New England School of Acupuncture, Scott Cedeño, Lic. Ac. brings a wealth of clinical experience, patient and compassionate communication, and a prevailing dedication to service in all aspects of patient care.
“As a provider of Acupuncture and East Asian Medicine, the highest calling of my practice is accompaniment. Not doing to, but being with my patients, holding present and compassionate space for fractured lives, broken histories, traumas, challenges, and pains.”
As a Japanese-style acupuncturist specializing in traditional and contemporary approaches to acupuncture and moxibustion, Auricular Medicine and microsystems, Visceral Manipulation, and manual medicine, Scott’s work is guided and informed by the subtle art of palpation, or the gathering, evaluation, and implementation of relevant clinical information through touch. Through this touch-based approach, each treatment is highly personalized and responsive to the patient's needs in real-time, engendering a concurrent focus on immediate patient needs, prominent treatment themes, and overall health and wellness goals.
“The incredible power of Acupuncture and East Asian Medicine lies in the ability to see the whole person in their entirety, to maximize what is healthy, to rebalance what is amiss, and to look beyond signs and symptoms to an underlying root presentation that is fundamental to vibrant health and transformational wellbeing.”
Scott has trained extensively with living masters and senior practitioners of Acupuncture and East Asian Medicine and works alongside leading integrative biomedical physicians. He is licensed by the Massachusetts Board of Registration in Medicine, is a Diplomat in Acupuncture and Asian Bodywork Therapy, and is nationally certified by the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine.
“The deepest healing occurs through my role as facilitator, setting the best conditions for my patients’ inherent capacity for transformation and vibrant health to come forward, shifting their state of being away from imbalance towards greater states of health and wholeness.”
In addition to clinical practice, Scott has worked and taught with the Japanese Acupuncture Department at the New England School of Acupuncture, the Structural Acupuncture for Physicians Course at Harvard Medical School, and as a Continuing Education Instructor for graduate Acupuncturists.
“At the very core of the healing process is mystery. I cannot know the outcome or where and how my patients’ lives and beings may be transformed. My role is to set the best possible conditions for vibrant health and transformational well-being to occur.”
Scott completed a Graduate Certificate in Advanced Pain Studies at Tufts University School of Medicine and a Diploma in Zen Shiatsu, Sôtai, and Thai Massage at the Boston Institute of Shiatsu and Complementary Therapies. He graduated from Boston College, completing his undergraduate degree in Philosophy and a Master of Theological Studies.
